Taiwan’s National Security Bureau has stepped into the conversation as concerns grow over Chinese infiltration into Taiwanese society. There's been another round of clashes in the legislature over a bill that would tighten regulations on recalling elected officials. And European Union tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles come into force with split views from EU member states. Plus,  

- Taiwan’s temperatures are rising faster than the rest of the world, according to a new climate report.  
- Taiwan railway workers who face potential punishment over a recent train derailment say the company is using them as scapegoat.  
- Japan's supreme court has ruled a defunct eugenics law to be unconstitutional, meaning plaintiffs who were subjected to forced sterilization may now receive compensation.
