A Taiwanese military veteran and politician has been arrested along with seven others accused of plotting armed attacks on military facilities in Taiwan and possibly the unofficial U.S. embassy in Taipei. The more than 200 people who were evacuated from their homes when a neighboring apartment block collapsed in New Taipei are set to receive interim compensation pending further negotiations. And a new report from Taiwan's Human Rights Commission finds that more than half of people who have experienced sexual abuse are under the age of 18.
