Taipei, June 2 (CNA) Interest in Japan tourism remains high among Taiwanese travelers, due partly to the depreciation of the Japanese yen, international travel site kayak.com said Friday.
Of the 10 most-searched travel destinations worldwide among Taiwanese users in the first five months of 2017, the top three were Tokyo, Osaka and Okinawa, all in Japan, according to a report compiled by KAYAK.
Other destinations on the list included Seoul, Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, Shanghai and Singapore, the report showed.
It also revealed a growing interest among Taiwanese travelers in Southeast Asian destinations such as Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
In the category of long-haul travel destinations, the cities of Los Angeles, New York and London were the three most popular among people in Taiwan, according to the report.
