Taipei, June 3 (CNA) Taiwan's Chen Chien-an and Cheng I-ching advanced to the final of the mixed doubles in the Liebherr 2017 World Table Tennis Chamionships being held in Dusseldorf, Germany after beating their Hong Kong rivals Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem in the semifinal 4-3 (11-7, 5-11, 11-5, 11-6, 5-11, 5-11, 11-9) on Saturday.
With their victory in the semifinal match, Chen and Cheng have created history, becoming the first pair from Taiwan to reach the final of the mixed doubles at the world championships.
They will meet the Japanese pair of Maharu Yoshimura and Kasumi Ishikawa in the final.
