Taipei, June 3 (CNA) Taiwan's Chen Chien-an and Cheng I-ching won the mixed doubles silver on Saturday at the Liebherr 2017 World Table Tennis Chamionships being held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Althouh once taking a 3-1 lead in the best of seven final, the Taiwanese duo failed to win the mixed doubles title, conceding the match to Japan's Maharu Yoshimura and Kasumi Ishikawa who came from behind to claim the victory with 4-3 (8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-4, 11-9, 11-5).
With this Chen and Cheng however have had the best performance among any pairs from Taiwan at the world championships mixed doubles events in the history.
