Taipei, June 6 (CNA) Taiwan beat Japan 78-73 Tuesday to advance to the final of the East Asia Basketball Association (EABA) Championship 2017 in Nagano, Japan.
Taiwan will next face South Korea, who had a close 106-104 win against China in an earlier game that day.
EABA 2017, which began June 3, will qualify five teams for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Cup 2017 in Lebanon from Aug. 8-20.
The qualification tournament in Nagano consists of teams from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and South Korea.
