Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Wu Hsin-shing met with the members of Turkey Taiwan Chambers of Commerce in Istanbul on May 24, accompanied by Taiwan’s official representative in Turkey Cheng Tai-hsiang and Director-General of the OCAC’s Department of Overseas Compatriot Business Service Wong Shu-hwa. In addition to hoping that Taiwan businesses support the 5+2 innovative industries program and the Forward-Looking Infrastructure Development Program put forward by the Executive Yuan, he also encouraged overseas compatriots to return to Taiwan during the period of National Day for tourism and health checkups.

Wu said that he hopes Taiwanese business people based in Turkey will support the 5+2 innovative industries program and Forward-Looking Infrastructure Development Program recently put forward by the Executive Yuan to enhance Taiwan’s future competitiveness. 

He said, when building relationships between Taiwan and other countries, the personal contacts and power of Taiwan’s business people will be utilized to assist the government implement various policies and reforms. Their support for Taiwan is deeply appreciated.

Since Double Ten National Day is approaching, he encouraged them to return for tourism and health examinations to witness Taiwan’s progress and the quality health care for themselves, and tell others in their place of residence their experiences in Taiwan so that the world can see its soft power.
