South Africa's outgoing representative to Taiwan honored

Taipei, June 15 (CNA) Foreign minister David Lee  on Thursday presented South Africa's outgoing representative to Taiwan, Musawenkosi Norman Aphane, with a medal in recognition of his efforts to promote relations between the two countries.

During the ceremony, Lee expressed gratitude for Aphane's efforts over the past four years to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and his invaluable contribution to advancing cooperation in agriculture, trade and technology.

Lee also expressed the hope that Aphane will continue to help strengthen bilateral relations after he returns home.

Aphane, who will soon step down as head of the Liaison Office of South Africa in Taiwan, was awarded the Friendship Medal of Diplomacy in recognition of his contribution to the development of relations with Taiwan, according to the foreign ministry.
