Taipei, June 25 (CNA) A mailbox painted with the colors of Taiwan's indigenous peoples -- the Seediq -- has become a tourist attraction in Noutou County in central Taiwan, the Nantou Post Office said Sunday.
The mailbox that stands outside the administration office of Renai Township has drawn a lot of tourists who have flocked there to take photos with it, the post office said.
To boost tourism, the office has prepared free souvenir postcards and stamping service for tourists to experience indigenous culture during their visits.
In the future, the post office said, it will incorporate social network marking tools, such as Facebook, in its tourism campaign.
The mailbox is one of the 16 special mailboxes painted with symbols and images from Taiwan's 16 indigenous tribes amid Chunghwa Post Co.'s efforts to highlight the features and culture of Taiwan's indigenous tribes.
The Seediq-themed mailbox was unveiled in Nantou on Dec. 5, 2016.
