Taipei, July 9 (CNA) Taiwanese archers won a gold medal after beating their South Korean opponents in the recurve mixed team final in Stage 3 of the 2017 Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament in Taipei on Sunday.
The team, which comprised Le Chien-ying and Wei Chun-heng, overcame the Koreans 35-36, 35-34, 36-31 and 39-35. With two points per win the final score was 6-2.
However, in the recurve men's team final, Taiwan's Teng Yu-cheng, Peng Shih-cheng and Wei Chun-heng only managed to win the silver medal after losing 3-5 to South Korea.
In addition to team events, Taiwanese Peng Chia-mao walked away with a gold medal in the recurve women's singles event, although her counterpart Tan Ya-ting only managed a bronze in the same event later in the afternoon.
Stage 3 of the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament, which began on Tuesday at the National Taiwan Sports University, ended Sunday afternoon.
