Taipei, July 10 (CNA) The Hsinchu County government is building a Teddy bear museum at the county's industry exchange center in Guanxi, hoping to promote tourism along the No. 3 provincial highway.

The museum is expected to open to the public in March 2018, according to the county government.

Hsinchu County authorities have been bringing Teddy bears into the center to help promote Hakka culture and arts as well as the county's unique cultural and creative industries by taking advantage of Teddy bears' high popularity.

The museum will include a main hall for visual arts exhibitions, a Teddy bear theme display room and an arts exchange gallery, and the Teddy bears from various countries will feature limited edition bears and Taiwan's treasured bear collection, the county government said.

The 437-kilometer No. 3 provincial highway connects mainly cities and towns in mountainous areas to the east of Taiwan's western coastal plains between Taipei City in the north and and Pingtung City in the south.
