Taipei, July 11 (CNA) A trade fair featuring Taiwanese brands has concluded in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin with exhibitors now in talks for potential licensing deals worth up to RMB1.8 billion (US$264 million), one of the organizers said Tuesday.

More than 800 quality Taiwanese brands were represented during the 4-day fair jointly organized by the General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the city government of Tianjin, the chamber said.

It described the event, which ended on Sunday, as "a big success."

A total of 600 million renminbi in sales of the products on display were concluded during the show and more than 250 of the exhibitors are now negotiating deals to license their brands or know-how to Chinese entrepreneurs that could be worth up to 1.8 billion renminbi, the chamber said.

It added that Chinese customers could continue to purchase the brand-name products on display during the fair by visiting an e-commerce portal run by the chamber.
