Taipei, July 11 (CNA) The annual Taiwan Culinary Exhibition will kick off in Taipei next week, featuring more than 800 booths and 20 food pavilions, the organizer said Tuesday.
The event will center around six different themes -- culinary arts, culinary utensils, culinary ingredients, culinary journeys, culinary gifts and culinary education -- to allow visitors to experience various aspects of culinary culture and fine dining, according to the Taiwan Visitors Association.
This year's fair will also feature five major exhibitors -- the Council of Agriculture, the Hakka Affairs Council, the Tourism Bureau, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and the Hualien District Agricultural Research and Extension Station.
Among them, the Hualien research station is expected to hit the spotlight with its colorful organic rice, available in purple, yellow, green and red, the association said.
Visitors will also get to sample more than 100 different Taiwanese signature dishes prepared by 28 reputed restaurants from around the country, which will set up booths at the invitation of the MOEA.
The exhibition will be held at Exhibition Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center from July 21-24.
