'Taiwanese Waves' to feature on Summer Stage in New York

New York, July 23 (CNA) "Taiwanese Waves," a concert program featuring music from Taiwan will be showcased at the "SummerStage" festival in Central Park, New York, on Saturday.

"SummerStage" is New York city's largest free summer music festival and performers come from around the world, complementing the social diversity of the city.

The "Taiwanese Waves" program made its festival debut last year with record breaking numbers of concert-goers, serenading locals and tourists alike.

This year, the program is expected to be about four hours long and will include performances from popular Taiwanese artists, including 2017 Golden Melody Award winner Sangpuy. The concert will also showcase Taiwan's vibrant and diverse culture with performances in Taiwan's indigenous Pinuyumayan language, Hokkien and Mandarin Chinese.

The artists will perform different genres of music, including traditional indigenous tunes, folk music and rock music, expressing their views on various social issues through their music.
