Taipei, Aug. 3 (CNA) Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. is looking at investing at a second site in Wisconsin -- this time in the U.S. state's Dane County, according to a USA Today report published Wednesday.

The investment could be separate from a massive flat screen plant that Foxconn Technology Group, the trade name for Hon Hai, has already committed to building in southeastern Wisconsin, according to the report.

Development of the potential project could come in less than two months, according to one source familiar with the project.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker suggested Tuesday that Hon Hai is likely to commit to other investment projects in the state, according to another U.S. media report.

In related news, representatives of the medical equipment division within Foxconn recently met with the head of the Carbone Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison about potential collaboration with cancer researchers in Taiwan, according to another U.S. media report.
