Taipei, Aug. 4 (CNA) A street parade that is part of the 2017 Luodong Arts Festival Fringe will now be held on Aug. 5 after it was postponed last weekend due to a typhoon, the organizers said Friday.
Some 60 performing groups from government agencies, schools and the community will parade in costumes and on floats, showcasing Luodong's vitality and unique characteristics, according to Luodong Township Chief Lin Tzu-miao.
The parade was scheduled for July 29, the last day of the festival, but was postponed because Typhoon Nesat hit Taiwan that same day.
It will now be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Lin said, on roads cornered off for the event (Xingdong Road, Gongzheng Road, Zhongzheng Road, and Nanmen Road).
The Luodong Arts Festival Fringe started July 15, featuring art and craft markets, children's storytelling, musical performances, street dance competitions and guided tours of Luodong.
