Taipei, Aug. 7 (CNA) The Taipei Metro and the Taoyuan Metro announced Monday special package deals of savings of up to 14 percent on rides during the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade, which will take place Aug. 19-30.
The special package deals will be available for sale from Aug. 10, with packages including trips to and from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on the airport MRT, together with unlimited rides on the Taipei MRT within 48 hours for NT$520 (US$17.21) and within 72 hours for NT$600, according to Taipei Rapid Transit Corp.
The deals can be purchased from airport MRT counters at both arrival terminals at the airport, and at airport MRT booths at Taipei Main Station.
The 2017 Universiade will be the largest sporting event to be hosted in Taiwan to date, with 11,397 representatives from 131 countries, including 7,639 athletes, descending upon Taipei, according to the Sports Administration.
