Taipei, Aug. 21 (CNA) The 2017 Taipei Sounds from the River festival is gearing up for the Dadaocheng Valentine's Day celebration, with a list of live performances from top artists.
The Chinese Valentine's special, organized by Taipei City's Department of Information and Tourism, takes place on Aug. 26 and will feature Japanese singer Kousuke Atari, Malaysian singer-songwriter Joyce Chu, local singer Wawa and reggae band Matzka.
The event, which is being billed as the main attraction at the annual Taipei Riverside Festival, is a combination of traditional and contemporary Chinese, English and Taiwanese music, department commissioner Chien Yu-yen said.
In addition to live music, there will also be a 10 minute fireworks show at 8:20 p.m. with 15,000 fireworks forming the shape of a bottle with the word "LOVE" inside.
Officials urged attendees use public transport as a large turnout is expected.
