Taipei, Aug. 29 (CNA) Taiwan's Tai Tzu-ying took only 22 minutes to rout South Korea's Lee Jangmi in two strait sets in the final of the women's singles badminton, winning Taiwan's 24th gold medal of the Taipei Universiade on Monday.
World No. 1-ranked Tai opted to attend the University Games which finishes the following day, rather than the 2017 World Badminton Championship.
Tai's skill on the court overwhelmed Lee, who entered the semifinal as a rank outsider for the Universiade title, ultimately succumbing 21-9, 21-13 in 22 minutes.
