Taipei, Aug. 30 (CNA) President Tsai-Ing wen expressed hope Wednesday for speedy approval of her administration's forward-looking infrastructure plan budget in order to expedite more balanced development of all regions of Taiwan.
Tsai, who concurrently serves as chair of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) made the statement after hearing a report from Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien on renovation of Taiwan Railways Administration's Hsinchu Station, which is one component of the government's forward-looking infrastructure plan, during a regular weekly meeting of the DPP's Central Standing Committee.
The president said she is looking forward to infrastructure development, not just in Hsinchu but all over Taiwan, and she urged all DPP legislators to persist in pushing the plan's budget through the Legislative Yuan.
