Taipei, Sept. 2 (CNA) The Alishan Forest Railway is adding a new stop to one of its tourist-oriented train tours, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced Saturday.
In a statement, the TRA said the Shuishan branch line will become part of the "Alishan Train Pongbi" cruise-style tour starting in October, taking passengers along a previously unaccessible route.
"Pongbi" refers to travelling along a zigzag path.
The addition offers a ride through a large forest, at the end of which is a 19.6-meter wooden bridge and the renowned Shuishan Giant Tree.
The "Alishan Train Pongbi" package costs NT$880 (US$29.2) for a roundtrip ticket, which includes a tour guide and lunch.
