Taipei, Sept. 14 (CNA) The Taiwanese delegation to the GATES ICT Reseller Channel Summit in India had a fruitful three days that resulted in big orders for attending firms, according to company officials returning on Thursday.

10 Taiwanese companies, led by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), showcased ICT products at the 3rd annual GATES ICT Reseller Channel Summit in India's Manesar, Haryana State, where they had the opportunity to meet the country's top distributors, resellers and other channel partners at pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings.

The 10 companies, who sent representatives to India, were Adata, Advantech, CyberPower, D-Link, Edimax Technology, Gigabyte, MSI, Plustek, QNAP Systems, and Thermaltake.

According to Chen Yu-ting, a manager at MSI, the summit expedites the process through which businesses find partners on the ground while also helping to strengthen existing contacts.

Without the summit, it would be difficult to develop a deep presence in the Indian market, he continued.

A press release issued Thursday by TAITRA emphasized the importance of the summit, citing the predicted growth of India's ICT sector to US$350 billion by 2025 to demonstrate the vast business opportunities available to the 10 companies.

The business trip was part of the government's Taiwan Industry Image Enhancement Project (IEP), trough which TAITRA showcases Taiwan products around the world under the brand "Taiwan Excellence."
