Taipei, Sept. 15 (CNA) A group of Indian television and Bollywood stars are currently touring Taiwan at the invitation of the Tourism Bureau to promote the island as a tourist destination for Indian travelers, the bureau's Singapore Office said Friday.

Six movie and television actors, including a production crew from India TV and Aaj Tak, arrived earlier this week to film a TV travel documentary featuring popular destinations and leisure activities in Taiwan, the office said.

The celebrities include Bollywood stars Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Thakur Mrunal Udaysingh, Priyanka Talukdar, Kanchi Singh, Rohan Mehra and Indian Telly Award winner Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar.

They will visit various locations around the country, including Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, Taipei 101 and the city's Yangmingshan and Ximending districts, as well as Yilan's hot springs on Taiwan's northeast coast, it added.

The 160-minute travel program is scheduled to be broadcast in four episodes and will be aired by India's top TV stations Aaj Tak and India TV, a subsidiary of Independent News Service and one of Asia's largest news TV studios.

During their time in Taiwan, the Indian celebrities will also keep their fans updated on their whereabouts on social media, which is also a good way to promote Taiwan given their huge following, the office said.

The group will be in Taiwan until Sept. 20, it added.
