Taipei, Sept. 21 (CNA) The three science parks in Taiwan recorded a total revenue of NT$1.1521 trillion (US$38.1 billion) in the first half of the year, an increase of nearly 7 percent from the same period in 2016, the Ministry of Science and Technology said Thursday.

The figure was the highest first-half revenue ever recorded by the science parks and represented year-on-year growth of 6.87 percent, the ministry said, attributing the strong performance to the global economic recovery.

It said total exports from the Hsinchu Science Park, Central Taiwan Science Park and Southern Taiwan Science Park reached a record NT$787.3 billion in the first six months of 2017, which was also a 6.87 percent increase from the same period last year.
