Rockville, MD – November 3, 2024 - The community of Rockville witnessed an inspiring display of youth engagement and cultural pride as students from the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) DC chapter participated in the 49th annual Rockville 5K/10K run. Held on a crisp Sunday morning, the event drew runners of all ages and abilities. The young participants from FASCA DC were united by a common goal: to promote health awareness and celebrate Taiwanese culture.
The Rockville 5K/10K run, a beloved local tradition, kicked off at the King Farm Village Center. Participants, including the enthusiastic FASCA DC students, gathered early to warm up and prepare for the race. The event featured a 10K race starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 8:45 a.m., and a special one-mile fun run for kids.
FASCA DC students, all wearing their FASCA T-shirts, stood out among the crowd. Their participation was not just about running but also about fostering a sense of community and spreading important messages about health and cultural diversity. The students were thrilled to be part of this event and believed it was a fantastic opportunity to promote healthy living while sharing their Taiwanese heritage with the broader community.
