OCAC Vice Minister Roy Yuan-Rong Leu traveled to São Paolo in Brazil to attend the 3rd board meeting and annual general assembly of the 19thTaiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (TCCLA), May 23-25 in response to an invitation from the organization.
中南美洲臺灣商會聯合總會23日至25日在巴西聖保羅舉辦第19屆第3次理監事暨會員大會，僑委會副委員長呂元榮應邀出席。
In his speech at meeting, the Vice Minister praised overseas Taiwanese businesses, saying they provide firm back up to the government and hence that every patriotic and charitable act they carry out is received warmly by the ROC government. Referring to the recent anti-Chinese riots in Vietnam that resulted in property loss, death and injury, he encouraged overseas Taiwanese business people to engage in close exchange with mainstream society in their resident countries and work out harmonious relations with the communities to make sure proper safety.
呂元榮致詞時讚揚臺商是政府在海外堅強的後盾，各項愛國愛鄉的善行義舉，都使政府感覺窩心。呂元榮以日前越南反華暴動，造成臺商身家財產遭受危害為鑑，勉勵臺商多與主流社會交流，加強敦親睦鄰的工作，以保護安全。
To acquire an understanding of the Overseas Chinese situation and show care for overseas compatriots, Vice Minister Leu stayed in the country for three days, in a packed schedule visiting 15 Overseas Chinese groups, including Associacão Hakka Chung Tsan Cultural Do Brasil. He left with the firm impression that Overseas Chinese in São Paolo are safe and happy and that all groups there are united and harmonious.
為瞭解僑情、關懷僑社，呂元榮停留當地3日，馬不停蹄地參訪巴西客屬崇正總會等15個僑團、僑社。此行對於聖保羅僑胞生活安和樂利，及僑社團結和諧，留下深刻印象。
