Chairman of Overseas Chinese Culture and Education Foundation (OCCEF) Sung-pei Wu promoted the 1st Ten Outstanding Overseas Chinese Youths Selection in an interview with Macroview Weekly, calling on qualified overseas compatriots aged between 25 and 45 years to register for the selection.
財團法人海華文教基金會董事長吳松柏4日接受宏觀媒體專訪，推廣第一屆海外十大傑出青年選拔活動，他呼籲僑界符合資格的25歲至45歲優秀青年報名參選。
He said many outstanding young overseas Chinese have made a major contribution in the fields of politics, business, culture, science and technology and international competition. The aim of holding the selection is to encourage other young overseas compatriots to follow the example set by these outstanding young people.
他說，海外有許多優秀青年，在政界、商界、文化、科技以及國際競賽等各方面有重大貢獻，基金會為了鼓勵僑界青年子弟見賢思齊，因此舉行十大傑出青年選拔活動。
The judging panel for the 1st Ten Outstanding Overseas Chinese Youths Award will be made up of experts and scholars in Taiwan. Registration will run from May 1 to June 15; the first and second selection rounds will be held in July and then the 10 recipients will be awarded in Taipei at the end of September. The recipients will be invited to visit various institutions in Taiwan and their round-trip airfare, accommodation and transportation expenses will be paid by the Foundation. Chairman Wu expressed the hope that outstanding overseas Chinese all over will take part.
第一屆海外十大傑出青年選拔活動評審由國內專家學者擔任，報名日期自5月1日至6月15日止，7月完成複選及決選，將於9月底在台北表揚10位得獎者，並將邀請得獎者參訪國內各部門，往返機票、在台膳宿及交通，都由基金會負責，希望大家踴躍報名。
