Taipei, Nov. 7 (CNA) The 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, to be held in central Taiwan's Yunlin County next year, will feature diverse cultures from new immigrants for the first time, the county government said Monday.

There will be a new immigrant-themed pavilion, a project involving 40 new immigrants from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar and China and covering everything from event organization to lantern displays, said county official Ting Yen-je.

A "New Immigrant Night" will also take place during the Feb. 11-19 event to present the cultures of the immigrants' home countries, Ting said. (Courtesy of CNA)
