Taipei, Sept. 10 (CNA) Japan Airlines on Thursday said it plans to resume partial service to Taipei Songshan Airport in October, after a two-month suspension on that route due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to the pandemic, the carrier was operating two round-trip flights per day between Taipei Songshan Airport and Haneda Airport, but it began to reduce the flights in March and suspended them entirely in August.

Starting October, the carrier said, it will resume service on the route, offering three round-trip flights per week -- on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

The carrier said, however, that it will cut its flights between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Narita International Airport from three to two per week -- on Tuesdays and Thursdays -- when it resumes service on the Songshan route.

Meanwhile, its flights between Taoyuan and the Japanese cities of Osaka and Nagoya will remain suspended, the carrier said.
