On September 28, Taiwan and the Netherlands jointly held the AI in Health forum. This was the first time AI Health startups and future potential investors, research institutes and venture capital firms from Taiwan and the Netherlands have come together. The industry-government-academia integration this time can be said to be “The endurance horse and Bole meet in The Netherlands” (Bole is a mythological figure, a famous judge of horses) for Taiwan’s startups. The event set a new milestone in Taiwan-Netherlands startup industry exchange and cooperation.
This AI Health forum was the first time industry-government and academia resources of Taiwan and the Netherlands have been integrated. From Taiwan there were: six venture capital firms; 20 listed companies including Quanta, Compal, Acer, ASUS and Delta, seven medical universities including Taipei Medical University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Chang Gung University; the Ministry of Science and Technology, Academia Sinica, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Institute for Information Industry, Shinkong Hospital, with 183 registrants. From the Netherlands: Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO (in charge of startup operations,) Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, Leiden Biotech Park, Philips, venture capital firms and medical centers, with 136 registrants. The total number of attendees was 319.
