The Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) held the Double Ten R.O.C. (Taiwan) National Day Painting Competition to celebrate 2021 Taiwan National Day. The awards ceremony was held online on October 10.

To encourages overseas compatriots to bring their creativity and patriotism fully into play so that they felt a sense of identification with Taiwan National Day, the ANCCS held the “Praying for Taiwan” themed painting competition. This year, electronic painting was made a category, the aim being to coagulate everyone’s feelings for Taiwan using static and dynamic methods in the face of the pandemic; also, following on from last year, an online Popularity Award was held and received an enthusiastic response.

The competition kicked off on September 1 and was divided into the pre-school child, child, adolescent, society and electronic categories. By the September 25 deadline, 126 works had been received. The works were judged by a professional judging panel made up of Xue Ya-fen, Chang Dong-ming and Chou Dian-yue. The online Popularity Award online vote was held September 28-October 5. Over 10,000 votes were received from overseas compatriots in the US, Taiwan, UK, Canada, France, and other countries.
