The Cement Texture Paint of SUZUKACOAT (M) SDN BHD won the Silver Award in the OCAC’s 1st Taiwan Prime Awards. Chairman James Wei said the award will raise the profile of the products of Taiwanese companies in the local Malaysian market.

He also said that winning award was a big encouragement for employees in SUZUKACOAT’s R&D, market and other departments. He said that Cement Texture Paint was brought out three years ago, built up a good word of mouth reputation and is very popular with consumers, clearly meeting the requirements of “excellence”.

“The paint on your wall will look better.” Wei said that what SUZUKACOAT sells isn’t just products, as well as selling products they teach consumers how to bring out the best in their products. They have held over 100 courses in the past to teach consumers and contractors how to use their products and understand them more to achieve the effects they want within a limited budget.

Asked whether he is worried that consumers will compare his company’s products with those of other companies after learning more about this type of product, Wei said confidently, although there are many similar products in the market and they might be cheaper, SUZUKACOAT ‘s product quality is there for all to see; so there is absolutely no need to worry about being their company’s products being compared with other companies’ products. After spending money, consumers will certainly obtain the effects they want, he said.

Wei has done business in Malaysia for 23 years. He is currently vice president of the Taiwan Investors' Association Malaysia. He believes that when Taiwanese businesses go overseas they can no longer just think “Go to do business where the labor is cheap” because, over a long time, the profit that can be made is only quite small. He said that the best way is to lay down local roots, do business diligently, and boldly go up against strong local competitors to become one of the best brands in the region. “This is the experience I have gained over many years and it’s my small suggestion” he said.

The winners will be commended at an awards ceremony in mid-November. Through this activity, the OCAC aims to raise the profile of the products of overseas Taiwanese businesses, assist them break through encirclement and drive the development of industrial brands to let the world see the eye-catching performance of overseas Taiwanese businesses.
