The OCAC held the Overseas Taiwan Prime Awards for the first time this year with the aims of encouraging overseas Taiwanese companies to establish their own brands. Chairman Dai Chao-rong of one of the winning companies Taisun Vietnam shared his overseas experiences and path to success.

Early in his career Dai helped the company he worked for in Taiwan to transform, then set up on his own as Asian distributor of paper diaper raw materials and equipment, going on to invest in a factory in ASEAN. He has been in the paper diaper businesses for over 30 years and has invested in ASEAN for more than 20 years. He is one of the few high level managers who can integrate raw materials, machinery, manufacturing R&D and marketing. Dai insisted on setting up its own brand and channels in the early days after the establishment of the Taisun Group and has continued to cultivate in new markets including Vietnam and Cambodia. He is one of the few Taiwanese entrepreneurs to have successfully established a brand overseas.

In the first Overseas Taiwan Prime Awards held by the OCAC this year, Taisun’s 3rd generation UniDry diapers stood out from the competition, winning the Gold Award. This newly released diaper is thinner than any previously seen in the Southeast Asian market, the aim being to use new technology to create a new era for diapers. From judging of R&D, quality, design and marketing etc. the 3rd generation UniDry diapers have been shown to have unique charm from the inside to outside.

The most unique feature of the diapers is that, although only 3.5mm thick, they actually have greater absorbency. Mothers won’t have to worry about leakage when taking even the most active baby out. To address the worry of many parents that diapers might harm their child, Taisun has also obtained certification of non-toxicity from an authoritative US institution.

Experox testing is intended to let everyone use without worry. The packaging design was designed jointly with the Taiwan Design Research Institute, the aim being to provide a product that combines Taiwanese and Vietnamese culture to give users a better use experience. The Overseas Taiwan Prime Awards is a great boost for Taisun’s new product and gives them extra confidence that the 3rd Generation UniDry diapers will win the favor of the customers when they are simultaneously released in Vietnam and Taiwan.
