The 11th Salon SoBD - Toute la Bande dessinée au cœur de Paris was held in Paris December 3-5. As quite a few Taiwanese comic artists have published books in France this year, the organizers attached importance to Taiwanese comic books. Taiwan’s representative to France Wu Chih-chung attended the opening ceremony; also present were SoBD chairman and founder Renaud Chavanne and curator Florian Rubis.

SoBD was established in the historic Le Marais district of Paris in 2011. On average, every year 150 comic book artists and several dozen publishers take part. Held before Christmas, the event attracts thousands of visitors. SoBD isn’t just an exhibition, there are book signing meetings, seminars, award ceremonies and training courses. Taiwanese comic artists taking part this year included OCAC Associate Adviser Lin Li-chin, who has received many international awards, and Lin Hsuan-an, winner of second place in the CROUS comic competition in 2020, who both reside in France. The French version of Legends of Assassins by Taiwanese comic book artist Chen Uen was also displayed
