According to the statistics, 729 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$3,119,350,000 were approved from January to April 2022. This indicates a decrease of 15.23% in the number of cases, but a increase of 100.52% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021.

With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 17 cases were approved with an amount of US$7,638,000 from January to April 2022. This indicates a increase of 54.55% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 56.28% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021. From July 2009 to April 2022, 1,527 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,535,164,000.

In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 190 projects were registered from January to April 2022 with a total amount of US$2,238,931,000, indicating an increase of 41.79% in the number of cases, and a increase of 51.90% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2021.

As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 126 applications have been approved from January to April 2022, indicating a decrease of 8.70% compared to the same period of 2021. The approved investment amount is US$1,081,933,000, 33.47% more than the same period in 2021.
