Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Offices (TECO) in SF(Milpitas) Director Sophia Chuang introduced the services the Culture Center of TECO can provide. Her class was a part of the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) San Francisco Bay Area Chapter's Training Camp for 2022.
FASCA has always been a highly demanded volunteer program locally, with over a hundred yearly signups. However, due to limitations, they only take in 60 new members each year, with many more people anxiously waiting their turn on the waiting list.
On the first day of FASCA's 2022 training, Director Chuang took time out of her busy day to introduce Culture Center of TECO to FASCA students. She went into detail on the history and facilities that the center provides and even went in-depth about the background and purpose of the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
A fun fact that everyone was amazed by was how Culture Center in Milpitas was the first-ever OCAC center established, supporting Taiwanese people since the 70s. The fact that Culture Center in Milpitas is still in operation and busy is a testament to how important the center is to local Taiwanese. Director Chuang’s presentation about Culture Center in Milpitas was most definitely beneficial to FASCA students!
