Five musicians from Taiwan were named as winners at the Global Music Awards, a top-tier music competition that honors talented musicians around the world.

Skyline Jazz Band (Skyline 天際線融合爵士樂團) won the gold medal of Instrumentalist, Band and Jazz Fusion for their fourth studio album "City Silhouette (城市翦影)." Founded in 2003, Skyline is one of the most renowned Jazz Fusion bands in the Chinese music scene. Its music covers genres like Jazz, Funk, Latin, R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Electronic and World Music.

Singer-songwriter Suming Rupi (舒米恩) from the Amis indigenous group and jazz band Tonic 5 both won the silver award for their albums "O Milaladiway (詠歌者)" and "Fusion World (融合世界)," respectively. Suming received three medals in the categories of Composer, Producer and Album for his album that celebrates traditional Amis chant music; while Tonic 5 received the medals in the categories Band, Creativity/Originality, and Fusion.

3PEOPLEMUSIC (三個人) bagged the bronze medal for their album "Change (嬗)" in the category of World Music. Violinist Audrey Liu (劉品斈) also took home the bronze medal for her debut album "It's Me" in the categories of Composer and Instrumentalist.

Established in 2011, the Global Music Awards is a well-known international music competition that celebrates independent musicians. Global Music Awards is widely recognized by industry insiders as giving legitimacy to highly talented artists and recognized as music's "golden seal of approval." Each year, the Global Music Awards receives hundreds of entries from around the world including Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, France, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, the United States, and more. Selected winners will receive the opportunity for a mentoring session with top echelon industry insiders.
