Taipei, Oct. 11 (CNA) Four United States congressmen arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday in two groups for separate three-day trips during which they will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and other senior officials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said Tuesday.

One of the two groups was led by Brad Wenstrup, a Republican Party member, representing Ohio's 2nd Congressional District. He was joined by three of his aides on the trip to Taiwan, MOFA said in a press release.

Wenstrup is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's Defense Intelligence and Warfighter Support Subcommittee.

Another group is being led by Democratic Party Congressman Seth Moulton, representing Massachusetts's 6th congressional district.

He is joined by two of his colleagues, Michael Waltz, a Republican from Florida, and Kai Kahele, a Democrat representing Hawaii, and their three aides, MOFA said.

During their visit that will last until Thursday, they will also meet with Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) and National Security Council Secretary-General Wellington Koo (顧立雄) to discuss issues related to Taiwan-U.S. relations, regional peace and security, and trade, it said.

According to MOFA, all four congressmen have long supported Taiwan in the House of Representatives by initiating bills and by writing joint letters to support Taiwan's participation in the World Health Organization and Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity.
