The Asian Dance Tour Taipei Open is set to return to Taipei Arena after a three-year hiatus, during the 228 Peace Memorial Day long weekend with over 300 top international dancers from 30 countries.

The dance competition, to be held on Feb. 28 at Taipei Arena, carries a total purse of US$85,000 and follows on from the 2023 Asia Open Dance Tour - Asian Open Dance Championships - Tokyo, to be held at the city's Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa on Feb. 26.

After Taipei, the competition series will then make another stop in Seoul, South Korea on March 4.

The annual Asian Dance Tour Taipei Open was not held over the past three years because of the COVID-19 pandemic and is expected to return this year with some of the world's top modern and Latin ballroom dancers.

World Amateur Latin Champions and Blackpool Amateur Latin Champions Troels Bager and Ina Jeliazkova are scheduled to be at the Taipei event.

"Hey guys in Taipei, we are looking forward to being back on Feb. 28 to dance and just share our passion with you guys. We love dancing there and we can't wait to see you," Bager said.

Bager, born in Denmark and Jeliazkova, born in Bulgaria, were WDC World Amateur Champions in 2012 and 2013, according to Dance Legends website.

Other top international dancers include Stanislav Zelianin and Irina Cherepanova, who finished third at the World Ballroom Dance Champions in Blackpool, U.K. in October last year.
