Taipei, March 20 (CNA) Taiwan's EVA Air said Monday that it had launched a promotional sale of 80 limited edition Hello Kitty airline service trolleys, which will be available on its home delivery shopping website while supplies last.

In a press release, the company said the aluminum alloy trolleys, which feature images of the beloved Sanrio character set against a pink background, were ideal items for collectors or for use around the home or office.

The trolleys, which are described as being 103 centimeters tall and relatively lightweight at 10.6 kilograms, each come with seven transparent sliding drawers, for a total price of NT$39,999 (US$1,309).

In the statement, the company said that during a similar promotion in October 2021, the 24 available service trolleys sold out in only 10 days.

It cited one of the buyers, Ms. Yang (楊), as saying that while the trolley had initially seemed expensive, it had turned out to be both durable and versatile.

After using the trolley to store COVID-19 prevention supplies during the pandemic, Yang said, she had recently repurposed it for use as a "portable coffee cart."
