Taiwan and Israel signed an agreement on Wednesday to allow young adults to travel to each other's country on working holiday visas, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Under the agreement, Taiwan's government and its Israeli counterpart will grant up to 200 one-year working holiday visas to Israeli and Taiwan nationals aged 18-30, on a yearly basis, MOFA said in a press release.

The agreement, the 32nd cooperation deal Taiwan has reached with Israel to date, aims to promote exchanges between the young people of Taiwan and those of Israel and push for more collaboration between the two countries, the release said.

More details, including the effective date of the agreement and requirements for visa application, will be announced after the two countries complete their respective procedures, the release added.

Israel is the 18th country to have signed an agreement on a working holiday scheme with Taiwan, following recent agreements with the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France, according to MOFA.

The agreement between Taiwan and Israel was signed by the Israeli representative to Taiwan, Omer Caspi, and Taiwan's representative to Israel Abby Lee (李雅萍), according to the release.
