Mobile World Congress 2023, the most attention-grabbing event for the mobile industry commenced on February 27 in Barcelona, Spain. Global ICT companies such as Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and many international cloud and telecommunications companies regarded this trade show as the most important event leading the communications industry. With global economic activities returning to normal, the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) once again organized the Taiwan Pavilion with 17 top-notch Taiwanese companies to take part in this important industrial platform and strive for more business opportunities.

The Taiwan Pavilion was centered on Taiwan's 5G and Open RAN ecosystem, with Taiwan's companies offering chips, terminals, base stations, transmission equipment, core networks, and system integration solutions to showcase how Taiwan could be a great partner to cater to the needs of 5G operators in the global marketplace. In addition, the biggest highlight at this year's Taiwan Pavilion was the debut of Taiwan's self-developed 5G end-to-end private network system. Such solution was expected to attract international customers, such as large-scale operators and system integrators from Europe and the U.S.

Featuring Pegatron, Alpha Networks, Compal, Edgecore Networks, NEXCOM, UfiSpace, Tailyn, and Wiwynn, these companies offered products from terminals, base stations, and transmission equipment to fulfill different needs from customers. Wave-in Communication exhibited the 5G Smart Factory solution, where Atayalan in collaboration with Quanta Computer, WHA YU Industrial, Synergy Design Technology and YTTEK presented 5G private network solution. Groundhog Technologies offered network optimization, geolocation and mobility intelligence solutions. TUTK exhibited the Kalay platform for supporting various IoT applications, where ITRI also showcased the gNB E2E solution.

Networking reception sponsored by Chunghwa Telecom was also held at the Taiwan Pavilion for Taiwan's ecosystem to meet with potential partners worldwide.
In advancing Taiwan's 5G industry development, IDB not only built a sound environment for research and development but also encouraged investment from the industry through policy instruments. By actively leading Taiwan's companies to increase global exposure in the international arena to gain market access, IDB aimed to showcase Taiwan's cutting-edge 5G technology to the global marketplace.
