More allegations of sexual misconduct continue to surface in Taiwan's nascent "#MeToo" movement, the most recent accusations ranging from Taipei City Hall to an elementary school in central Taiwan. The top U.S. diplomat to Taiwan has met with Hou Yu-ih, the presidential candidate of Taiwan's main opposition Kuomintang. And former Taipei mayor and current presidential candidate Ko Wen-je has courted controversy with remarks about disputed islands claimed by Japan, China and Taiwan. Also:
- People who lost money in a Ponzi scheme named "im.B" say the government is to blame for ignoring early red flags concerning the fraudulent group.
- The ongoing drought in southern Taiwan is endangering crops of high mountain oolong tea, one of the country's most prized agricultural products.
- Researchers in Taiwan have discovered Saturn has dozens more moons than previously known.
