Welcome new members for completing training and officially joining the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors(FASCA SFBA) family! FASCA SFBA hosted a follow-up event on Saturday, July 8 from 1-5pm at the Cultural Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco (Milpitas) to introduce their well-known performance teams to new members. These teams included the lion, assorted juggling such as Chinese yoyo(diabolo), drumming, and dance teams.

Director of Culture Center, Sophia Chuang congratulated all the students who took the extra step to become more involved in the volunteer team.  She introduced all the performance teams’ designated advisors and teachers. Additionally, she presented awards to the FASCA chapter's three most recent former Presidents, Emma Wang(2020-2021), Adrian Lu(2021-2022), and Daniel Tsai(2022-2023) to thank them for their extensive efforts & contribution to the FASCA SFBA community. Director Chuang wished them the best for their college adventures.

A highlight of the event was special guest Carol Ma, the YiWoo dance teacher who introduced the cultural background and significance of the YiWoo dance at the annual Confucius Ceremony. During the event, Teacher Ma demonstrated the steps of the YiWoo dance and encouraged FASCA members to join the YiWoo performance in honor of Confucius.

This year FASCA SFBA advisors invite the returning members as the TAs to inherit and pass down these teams' experience to the new members. These teams are an essential part of FASCA-SFBA.  Former FASCA President Daniel Tsai emphasized that the event was dedicated to allowing new students to explore the performance teams options that the FASCA SFBA chapter offers. Members are not restricted in the number of teams they participate in.

Close to 50 people participated in this little weekend event. Excited to see what new members accomplish on the performance teams in the upcoming year!
