The Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Greater Orlando (TCCGO) hosted the 26 th President Handover Ceremony at the Ventura Country Club on July 7 th , attracting many guests to the event.
Mr. Wilson Chou, the outgoing President of the TCCGO, delivered a speech thanking the distinguished guests for coming and for their strong support.
Afterwards, Director General Chou delivered a speech and mentioned that under President Chou’s leadership, the business of the chamber had flourished, and several activities had been held to unite the overseas Chinese community in Orlando. One example was that the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce participated in the Greater Orlando Golden Dragon Parade, putting forth a very impressive performance. Director General Chou thanked President Chou and his team for their contribution.
Director General Chou also congratulated the newly appointed President Ms. Mary Liang and wished her a smooth and successful term. And on behalf of Chia-Ching Hsu, Minister of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Council, he issued a letter of gratitude to outgoing President Wilson Chou and to the incoming President Mary Liang. Later, the handover ceremony of the old and new presidents took place and was witnessed by all the distinguished guests.
The new president, Ms. Mary Liang Sheridan, delivered a speech thanking everyone for their support. During her tenure over the next year, she plans to hold large-scale events to bring Taiwanese businessmen and mainstream society together. She asked everyone for their continuous support.
In the evening, Mr. Raymond Hsieh and Mr. Ricky Lee, two cultural volunteers of the Haihua Foundation, performed a folk dance, which was followed by activities such as a piano and singing performance, and a raffle. Director Chou also sang a song titled "Friends" with former President Chou, and all the attendees joined in. The atmosphere of the event culminated with a happy and warm ending.
Special guests included Director General Mr. Charles Chou from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami (TECO in Miami), Senior Expatriate Affair Secretary Ms. Maria Liu, Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Senior Advisers Mr. Johnson Young and Mr. Joe Wang, OCAC Advisers Mr. Jack Kao, Mr. Tony Hung, and Ms. Brenda Muh, Honorary Presidents of the TCCGO Ms. Shirley Chen, Mr. Paul Hsiao, PeiDa Yan, Ms. Lisa Lynch , Ms. Gloria Chu, Mr. Paul Liao, Ms. Lana Young, and Mr. George Forest Lin, and President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Miami (TCCM) Ms. YiTing Wang. In total, there were 80 guests that attended the event.
