Taipei, Oct. 31 (CNA) Taiwan will participate in the 57th Lucca Comics & Games in Italy from Nov. 1-5, Taiwan's representative office in Italy said in a press release Tuesday.
According to the office, 18 Taiwanese publishers will attend the event under the theme "Taiwanese deities pay a visit," bringing 30 Taiwanese comics, including "The Funeral Concerto" (送葬協奏曲) by Rimui (韋蘺若明) and "Tale of the Cat Fairies" (貓妖傳) by Aliyo (艾莉柚).
"The Funeral Concerto" depicts the Taiwanese funeral industry and has sold the translation rights in Japanese, French, Italian, Thai and Czech; while there are descriptions of Taoism and traditional Taiwanese religions in "Tale of the Cat Fairies."

The office said there will be on-site creation and signing events provided by comic book artists, as well as opportunities to discuss translating the works and how to obtaining the copyright.
It added that works being showcased at the event include the past two winners of Taiwan's annual Golden Comics Awards, selected works from the Books from Taiwan initiative, which is funded by Taiwan Creative Content Agency, and works with potential to attract a global audience.
