The presidential candidate of Taiwan's ruling DPP, Lai Ching-te, has named the country's envoy to the U.S. Hsiao Bi-khim as his running mate. Meanwhile in the opposition camp, only days remain to rescue a seemingly scuppered joint presidential ticket between the KMT and TPP. And medical workers in Taiwan say the government is failing to address the structural issues that are causing people to leave the profession. Also:
- The Taipei Dome has opened its doors to the public for the first time with an exhibition baseball game that drew a crowd of 13,000 people.
- Bryn Thomas reports on the Ukrainian veterans, severely injured in the defense of their country, who are finding new strength through Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
- Taiwan is seeing increasing numbers of beached whales and dolphins and scientists see a correlation with the rise in the country's offshore wind farms.
