Taipei, Dec. 15 (CNA) Japan's Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School marching band concluded their second tour of Taiwan Thursday with a final performance at the National Theater in Taipei.
The soldout show was the first ticketed show ever put on by the Japanese marching band. Many of the band's members appeared emotional as the concert neared its end, with all of them saying "I love Taiwan" in Mandarin in unison after finishing the encore.
Known as the "Orange Devils" because of their orange uniforms, the band first took Taiwan by storm during last year's Double 10 National Day celebrations in Taipei and returned for a one-week tour of the country from Dec. 9 and Dec. 15.
The 98-member marching band debuted on Kaohsiung's Shidai Boulevard on Dec. 10 and drew around 85,000 spectators.
On Tuesday, it performed eight songs at the Taipei First Girls High School's 120th anniversary celebrations and staged an impromptu 40-minute show of in the capital’s Ximending shopping district later that day.
