Dublin Lunar New Year, organized by the Dublin City Council, concluded with a spectacular six-hour flagship event on February 11, 2024.  The event features a captivating show called "The Journey of the Dragons," created by Lisette Krol and DJ Lychee. Performers from Chinese, Korean, Mongolian, and Taiwanese communities will showcase Cantonese Lion and Dragon performances, Tai Chi demonstrations, and collaborative art workshops. Various artists, including Jane Groves and Heather Gray, will lead activities like dragon head sculpture and multicultural dragon illustrations. Attendees can also enjoy diverse cuisine from traders like Seoul Kitchen and Bahay, making it a vibrant celebration with something for everyone.

Evan Furlong, OCAC advisor said on stage that she appreciated the invitation from the organizer and for the support of Overseas Community Affairs Council in Taiwan so that Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese able to presents a unique performance featuring the iconic Third Prince, symbolizing Taiwan's cultural diversity for the past 400 years. Originating from Indian Buddhism and gaining significance in Daoism, the Third Prince has transformed into the 'Techno Nezha,' becoming a symbol of resilience and love for democracy and independence in contemporary Taiwan. This fusion of Daoist tradition and contemporary culture reflects the pride of the Taiwanese people in embracing their identity. Join us for a captivating show featuring brilliant Irish dancers Linsey Corcoran, Niall O’ Callaghan and Adam Butler from The Dowling School of Irish Dancing and a warm welcome to the Third Princes, blending tradition and modernity seamlessly.
