The 46th Academic Competition Awards Ceremony, organized by the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS), took place on March 30. With over 500 attendees, the ceremony was held at the Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco (Milpitas) .

Guests in attendance at the ceremony included Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco Director-General's wife: Ms. Wenjian Yun, Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco (Milpitas) Director Sophia Chuang, City of Fremont Vice Mayor Shao Yang, Cupertino Councilmember Wei Hong, Taiwan Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission (TOCAC) Commissioners Jenny Tan, Johnney Lee, Hanwen Li, and Anna Wei. Also present were TOCAC Senior Advisor Mr. Peter Yeh and Overseas Chinese Affairs Consultant Huixiang Chen.

ANCCS President Selena Shan emphasized the significance of the annual academic competition. She stated that thanks to the efforts of over 200 volunteers, this year's competition and awards ceremony were able to be held separately for the first time in ANCCS history. This ensured that while results were announced on the day of the competition, each awardee's name was printed on the trophies received during the ceremony.

The competition featured sixteen categories including recitation, essay writing, reading, Chinese calligraphy & painting, and Mandarin & Cantonese speech. There were a total of 465 contestants hailing from twenty-five schools.

Ms. Wenjian Yun congratulated the 186 award recipients for standing out among their peers, recognizing their years of effort and dedication. She emphasized that competitions involve both victory and defeat, encouraging students and their parents to persevere in learning Mandarin and adjacent fields.

Director Sophia Chuang expressed gratitude to the Chinese school principals and teachers for their efforts in promoting Chinese language education overseas. Additionally, she thanked the parents for supporting their children's Mandarin language learning journey.

The awards ceremony proceeded smoothly with performances by champion students, including Christine Huang from Yaozhong International School: 1st place for Mandarin recitation Group C category, Wilmer and Warren Duong from Berryessa Chinese School: 1st places of Cantonese recitation Groups A & B, respectively, and Athena Fitzpatrick from Tzu Chi Academy Tri-Valley: 1st place of the CFL-CLS recitation Group A.
